Claressa Shields, one of the most decorated boxers ever, takes on top-ranked contender Danielle Perkins Sunday night for a chance to win another undisputed world title.

Shields fights Perkins at the Dort Financial Center in Flint, her hometown, on Sunday night for the undisputed women’s heavyweight championship. Shields (15-0, 3 KOs), already a champion of five different weight classes, is looking to become the first boxer to win undisputed titles at three different weight classes. Perkins (5-0, 2 KOs) will have to take down Shields on her home turf to win her first championship.

Shields-Perkins headlines a night of 10 fights in the “Vehicle City” featuring four women’s fights. The co-main event is a men’s heavyweight duel between Brandon Moore and Skylar Lacy for the vacant USBA heavyweight title. Five other boxers from Michigan — Jaquan McElroy, Joseph Jerome Starks, Leon Lawson III, Joseph Hicks and Joshua James Pagan — will also fight on the card.

This fight is for the first-ever undisputed women’s heavyweight title in boxing history, and a chance for an American, male or female, to become the undisputed champion at the top weight class since 1992.

Shields is looking to become the first boxer regardless of gender to win undisputed titles in three weight classes — 154, 160 and 175. She became the first boxer to win two undisputed titles after her last fight in Flint at the Dort Financial Center in 2021.

Uncrowned has Claressa Shields vs. Danielle Perkins live results, round-by-round updates, highlights, ring walks and start time for the Shields vs. Perkins fight card on Sunday night at the Dort Financial Center in Flint, Michigan. WBC heavyweight champion Shields defends her belt against Perkins with the vacant WBA, IBF and WBO belts also on the line.

Shields (15-0, 3 KOs), Uncrowned’s No. 1 pound-for-pound women’s boxer in the world, is a five-division champion and former two-division undisputed champion, having held the undisputed super welterweight crown in 2021 and the undisputed middleweight title twice between 2019 and 2024. Shields won the WBC heavyweight title with a second-round knockout of Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse this past July.

Perkins (5-0, 2 KOs) has never been scheduled for more than eight rounds and comes into the bout as far less experienced than her championship opponent. Perkins boxed on the undercard of Shields’ fight with Lepage-Joanisse, winning a wide unanimous decision over Christianne Fahey.

Heavyweight prospects Brandon Moore (16-1, 10 KOs) and Skylar Lacy (8-0-2, 6 KOs) clash on the undercard in a bout scheduled for 10 rounds. Moore recently teamed up with Dmitry Salita’s Salita Promotions, which is promoting Sunday’s card and has a long-standing relationship with Shields.

Shields vs. Perkins begins at 7:30 p.m. ET on DAZN, with main event ring walks expected at around 11:00 p.m. ET.

An ex-UFC fighter has ripped into the iconic Iron Mike Tyson by insisting the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world has never actually beaten anyone good, insisting he isn’t a great boxer.

Matt ‘The Immortal’ Brown said that whilst he respects the 58-year-old for his accomplishments in the sport, he isn’t his favorite fighter and struggled to beat the other greats of his time such as Evander HolyfieldLennox Lewis and Buster Douglas; as well as failing to take on Riddick Bowe.

“Not actually,” Brown told the JAXXON Podcast when asked if Tyson was his favorite. “I swear to God. I like Evander Holyfield way more. He was always a great fighter.

A former UFC fighter buries Mike Tyson and opens a debate: He didn't beat the good guys

“Don’t get me wrong man Tyson had an image. And Tyson‘s got the aura. He’s got all that sh** going on for him. But he ain’t that great of a boxer

“See that’s all mythical bulls**t Don’t get me wrong. I have nothing against Mike Tyson. I love the dude. I love watching him. I love his aura. I love to watch him train. All that s**t.

“I mean when you look at, like, the record, there were so many guys even in that era far, far better than him. Riddick BoweLennox Lewis. He didn’t beat the good guys.”

Iron Mike racked up a 50-6-2 record before his first retirement from professional boxing back in 2005, but five of his losses came after his stint behind prison for rape from 1992-1995; interrupting his career after he had become the youngest ever champion.

Prior to the sentence, he racked up a 41-1-0 win with the only defeat coming via a shock loss to Douglas in 1990 when he lost the WBA, WBC and IBF belts in Japan after being knocked out in the 10th round.

In those 41 fights, he knocked out 36 opponents and beat all of the other five who managed to go the distance via unanimous decision. His rise was so rapid he is widely considered one of the best boxers of all-time.

It looks like 2025 is off to a great start for Simone Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens. First, I saw Owens support Biles as she was honored at the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year ceremony. Then, I got glimpses of the happy couple during their recent getaway in Switzerland—complete with picturesque views. And more recently, the Olympic gold medalist paid tribute to her partner in crime, which speaks volumes about their relationship.

On January 26, Biles took to Instagram to celebrate the seventh year of her husband’s NFL career. She shared a carousel of pics and videos with her beau, complete with Chicago Bears-themed outfits, and wrote, “Will support my man till the very end. Proud of you 36! Year seven in the books.”

The post features some of her husband’s biggest moments on the field, as well as multiple pics of Biles proudly donning her Bears attire, including a hoodie with her husband’s name and jersey number and a bedazzled black shirt with the number 36. Per usual, the athlete’s unique fashion looks were top-tier, but what really caught my eye was the footage of Biles and Owens showing major PDA.

First up is a short clip of the duo quickly smooching (twice) after Owens exits the field to meet Biles on the sidelines. But in the last slide, they not only share a kiss, there’s a playful, flirty gesture that takes the PDA up a notch.

Biles’s sister, Adira, showed her support for Owens in the comments and wrote, “Bear down all the way.” Another fan joked, “So this is what you get when you put a GOAT and a bear in the same room.”

This weekend, Claressa Shields will attempt to increase her collection of heavyweight titles when she takes on Danielle Perkins in a clash that has been eagerly anticipated by boxing fans for some time.

Shields will make the first defense of her WBC crown as she pursues the undisputed crown against the challenger, who is seeking her first world title.

Shields, a two-weight undisputed champion with a brilliant career so far, goes into the ring as the favorite to take the victory, but will also be wary of any possible danger in the event to be held at the Dort Financial Center in Detroit, Michigan.

The two-time Olympic champion Shields (15-0, 3 KOs) will look to keep her professional unbeaten streak alive in her hometown of Michigan against undefeated heavyweight contender Danielle Perkins.

The fight will be for Shields’ WBC heavyweight title and the WBO light heavyweight title, as well as the vacant WBA heavyweight title.

“I feel very blessed at this time in my life and career,” Shields said in a statement. “But make no mistake, every blessing came with blood, sweat and tears. My home in Flint helped shape me into the person I am today. That city, with all its struggles and strengths, built something in me that cannot be broken.

“Without Flint and the determination I developed there at an early age, I don’t know if I would be here today. I can’t wait for this homecoming event,” Claressa added.

While Perkins (5-0, 2 KOs), a native of Brooklyn, New York, won her last fight by unanimous decision over Christianne Fahey in July to become the top-ranked contender, Shields has taken note of this.

“Danielle Perkins is undefeated and a strong contender, but I’ve been fighting my whole life, not just in the ring,” said Shields. “Whether it’s in my personal life, in the amateur boxing ring or as a professional world champion, I just don’t fail. February 2 will be no different.”

It seems as though Daniel Dubois has moved from the idea of giving Anthony Joshua a rematch.

The 27-year-old is the current IBF world heavyweight champion and he defended that status in emphatic fashion back in September in front of a record-breaking crowd at Wembley Stadium.

Daniel Dubois Rules Out Anthony Joshua Rematch As He Names His Next 2 Opponents After Parker

In the opposite corner was ‘AJ’, the former two-time world champion who was knocked down at the end of the first round and never really recovered. In the fifth, Joshua threatened to get a foothold in the contest only to be caught on his way in by a short, sharp right hand from Dubois that sent him to the canvas, at which point the referee counted him out.

There was talk of an immediate rematch in the aftermath, though Joshua then decided to bide his time and recover from a few small injuries. For now, Dubois has moved on to a second defence versus Joseph Parker on February 22.

Should Dubois beat Parker, he may well lure current three-belt champion Oleksandr Usyk into an undisputed fight some time later in the year. Meanwhile, Martin Bakole is set to face Efe Ajagba in an IBF final eliminator this May, with the winner becoming Dubois’ mandatory challenger. Fans will welcome Dubois taking both fights and continuing to test himself against the very best as a champion should.

As for Joshua, he had hoped to get a legacy-defining fight with long-time British rival Tyson Fury, but Fury announced his retirement at the start of January, so for now, that one is also up in the air.

Mike Tyson was viewed as an unstoppable force throughout the late 1980s.

His rapid rise to the top of the heavyweight scene began when he won his first 19 fights by knockout, 12 of them inside the very first round.

That led to him defeating Trevor Berbick to become WBC heavyweight champion in November 1986 at the age of just 20 years and 145 days, making him the youngest world heavyweight champion in history, a record that still stands to this day.

Mike Tyson Admits He Wouldn’t Have Been Able To Beat One Heavyweight Even In His Prime

Victories over the likes of Tony Tucker, Michael Spinks and James Smith then saw ‘Iron Mike’ become undisputed in the division, an accolade he held until his shock defeat to Buster Douglas in February 1990.

While he was seen as one of the best heavyweights of all time during that period, Tyson has told ThisIs50 that even during his prime, he would have been unable to defeat Muhammad Ali.

“There is no man like him, there just isn’t. Everything we have he supersedes us in. He was an animal, he looked more like a model than a boxer.

“He’s like a Tyrannosaurus Rex with a pretty face, he’s mean, he’ll take you to deep waters and drown you. He’s very special. The best. Nobody beats Ali. I can’t beat the man, hell no.”

Ali is the only three-time lineal heavyweight champion in history, helping to show exactly why he is regarded as ‘The Greatest.’

He beat a number of boxing icons during his illustrious career, including George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Sonny Liston and Floyd Patterson.

One man that fought both Ali and Tyson was Larry Holmes, and the former world heavyweight champion has given his prediction for who would have won between the two legends.
